General Tips
Any polishing stone in the higher grit will do more than remove striations. Working the edge with a polishing stone will harden the edge for a longer lasting sharper edge. Polishing stones remove very little edge material. The polishing stones are a hard fine grit stone. 1. T2 pro stone kit (220x - 600x) 2. White stones in the WC stone kit (220x - 600x) 3. Medium Ceramic edge polishing stone (600x) 4. Fine Ceramic edge polishing stone (1500x) 5. Translucent surgical pocket stone (2000x) Cutting stones are a softer and lower grit stone. 1. Green stones in the WC stone kit. (220x - 600x) Diamond Stones. Most commonly used as a cutting file. Most are used for the durability and strength of the tool. On case hardened edges and burrs. 1. Diaface Moon Flex Files- cutting and polishing at the same time and will get close to a mirror finish with a 1500x. 2. DMT- Best used for reducing the striations after an initial setting of the edge and before a polishing stone.
